How do you define your recovery?
A constant work in progress
what he said!
For me, recovery means recovering the person I was before I needed to escape life to survive/function.
My recovery is my everything. Even going through a terrible time at moment but I’ll never go back to my old life as long as i work my 12steps programme one day at a time x
U gotta rewire ur brain. And its not easy to do. Im approaching day 1 again. But im gonna look into some long term programs cuz i need that. Everythings subjective. But i was in a meeting before i relapsed and this dude told his story he was i believe 30 years sober and he still got choked up as he was telling it so i knew he meant it and he needed it bad still. And he told me youve spent all this time wiring your brain to love a substance (mine being alcohol) you have to rewrite it. I wish i got his phone number that was a woke dude.
Recovery is everything. The most important part of what I do everyday.
