My favorite change? My sense of “soul balance”. To use the physical to illustrate the spiritual:
An opponent/attacker crashes into me, seeking to unbalance me, take me to the ground. Rather than fall, I move, find my footing, my balance…and then I use my tools and techniques to smash my opponent.
So much life has happened in four years, which has included my share of negative things like layoffs, lockdowns, and the like. If drinking me was even around to have experienced these things, they’d have likely put me down for good.
But they can’t take sober me down. The best they can do is unbalance me for a moment, until I adjust and attack.

Oh my gosh, my friend, I needed to read this first thing this morning. I can’t thank you enough for all of the words you share on this forum. I admire you so much. I too consider myself simply a non-drinker now and say no to the drink that matters. . . The first drink. You touch peoples lives virtually in such a positive way, my friend.
As an aside, I’d like to know what flavor from cold stone. Don’t leave me hanging, kind sir.
