How are you doing @Natalieod

Your relapse does not take your clean two years away from you Natalie. Don’t allow using to spiral, take back control. As Jason said, get rid of your connections. Focus on staying clean TODAY. Go back to your sober routine, one foot in front of the other. Are there nearby meetings you can attend? Now is the time to pull out your sober tools Natalie. What has worked for you before? We are here for you x

You could have lost track of goals. Goals = good

Better is greater then or = to good

Do you want better or do you want worse. And giving up isnt ever a option

Welcome to our amazing community.

What an amazing and valid question!

For me, it was a lot of things. I have a personality disorder that makes me predisposed to hyperfocusing on and becoming obsessed with a single thought. So, I had to see a therapist and get on a medication regimen to help with the chemical/biological side of it.

Once I got those bases covered, learning how to identify what I REALLY want instead has helped me stay quit. Name it out loud.

I am hungry. I am angry. I am lonely. I am tired.

Naming it is empowering because now you can figure out how to give yourself what you truly need.

Sometimes that’s just: I need a hug.

Hopefully that helps.
