Relapse & Work

Well hello friends! It’s been too long but here I am again. I’ve relapsed after months of sobriety. I got sick at work and said screw it, I’m having a hot tottie. That turned into 3 weeks of chugging liquor. So here I am deep into it and must go to work Monday. My plan is taper but I know withdrawal is going to be a nightmare. Any thoughts or suggestions to pull this off?

My plan is a pint today then it’s done. However the insomnia is kicking hard and it’s going to get worse. I also know time is the key, which I don’t have. Need to be at work in 25 hours and hurting. Any thoughts or suggestions is appreciated. This is about to get nasty!!

I wish I knew more to help!! Maybe lots and I mean LOTS of water & rest :confused:light eating of healthy foods like nuts, eggs, fruit & vitamins

&& seek medical attention if signs of severe withdrawal appear!!

Thanks for the response. I live right next to the hospital and thought twice about going.

Then I think, suffer at home vs a hospital bed.

I asked for another day to recoup. Hopefully everything is ok.

Now we are on the witching hours, not good.

Thinking of you!!! :sparkles:

Thank you. I’m getting real close to rehab. Finally told someone which helps alot. I’m a terrible liar. Basically got an invite to detox at my parents house.

I’m strong but I may need help? Any thoughts?

Welcome back, I’m sorry you are going through this. I would consider taking up the invite to go to your parents to detox. At least that way you are not alone and you will hopefully be able to rest as it passes. I think you are doing great, stay strong and hydrated. I wish you well my friend :folded_hands:t2:

Telling someone is such a heavy weight to lift off your shoulders! Naming it for me was (& is) still hard.

I would 100% take up the invite from your parents (and it’s so good to hear they are supportive!!) They can be your second set of eyes & help too!! Are you still taking time off & resting/ pushing fluids & healing ?

Take a solid vitamin concoction and a crap ton of water. I prefer alkaline as it seems to restore my body more effectively. As far as sleep/anxiety I recommend ashwaganda (supplement) and sleepy tea. I actually found a tea that has ashwaganda, melatonin, and chamomile and I’m out in 30 minutes. Even on my worst days. Rooting for you. :flexed_biceps:

This is not medical advice, just how I’ve made it through alcohol and opiate detoxing.

Hope you’re doing ok, despite the current circumstances! How goes the hunt for a rehab?
