What can you salvage from this situation? All is not lost. The next 24 hours and your next couple of moves will need a calm mind. Stop, think, proceed.

I was always good at self sabotage. Living sober, got a new job, things are good. No, now I have to mess them up. My brain makes me think that things are going too good. That it’s only a matter of time before it all falls apart…at that point and time it becomes my job to make it happen. It was a vicious cycle for me. I still struggle with the thoughts today… I just know that it’s a lie now. Good luck to you stay positive and don’t ever give up!:pray:

Let me just start by saying one thing that gets said a lot on here that is not true… Relapses are part of recovery…, No they are not. Relapses are part of addiction, sobriety is part of recovery, hard work and self improvement in all areas is part of recovery. So that being said yes you should feel devistated but don’t walk around carrying guilt, it’s not your fault your an addict, we don’t choose this. BUT we do get to choose the next move.
Flip the coin, change devistation for empowerment " I’m an addict I fucked up, How?, what lead up to this?, what will I do next time if I’m in the same situation?, How can I grow from this?
I relapsed a 100 times and learnt 100 different lessons.
Eventually we run out of excuses to pick up, eventually we work on the ME problem and it’s a lot easier to fix the ME if you do it as a WE.
Reach out before and not after next time you get that thought.
I wish you well on your journey :+1:

Sorry you’re having a hard time. Self sabotage is a real thing. So is not understanding craving, it’s a signal that something in life is missing and we’ve got to figure out what.

For me it was connection. I am dating a person who doesn’t care for alcohol at all and it’s been a great experience.
