Me and my wife had to move in with her grandparents. If it wasn’t for them she would be homeless right now. She really wanted me to move in with her so I said ok and I’m here
I relapsed on weed and alcohol yesterday and set my timer to today
My goal is to stay sober and quit the nicotine.
I’m the only one who smokes cigs at her place so I feel very out of place with smoking nicotine.
Let’s try quitting once again. I hope I can get it this time
Life is always going to be life. It’s always going to have its challenges. What are you going to do differently so that you don’t relapse at the first inconvenience you face?
Youve had a stressful week for sure my friend. Glad that the two of you could move together.
Great that you came back here and are resetting your timer(s)…only for cigarettes at this time or for cigs/alcohol/weed? You are stronger than you think.
It will be easier to quit smoking if no one else around you is doing so. How about the alcohol- do the grandparents drink - drink frequently? Is weed readily available for you?
Its best to cut them all at once since youve been doing so great so far…dont let these addictions hold you down.
Find meetings, activities to keep you busy, therapy if needed to help you cope with life stresses…these addictions will never be helpful.
I could be dropped at the South Pole and be drunk within an hour if that’s where my head is at. It doesn’t matter where I’m at or what I’m doing I always need to have a defense against that first one. For me once I got a sponsor and worked the steps I have not had a single craving to drink. I have been through marriage, divorce, births of my children and deaths of my friends and never once has the thought of a drink crossed my mind.
