Remaining sober at work/getting thru early recovery

Does anyone have tips how to get through the work week sober? I used weed to help calm my thoughts and anxieties. Quit 4 days ago. Really struggling today almost smoked. I know once I get money tomorrow I could un-do my progress. Im a mess.

Weed isn’t my DOC but HALT works for all situations, if you know you’re going to struggle prepare in advance, don’t have money on you, make sure you change your typical using routine, eat earlier, stay hydrated, go for a walk/run, stay occupied.
We’re in your pocket so reach out if you need to…

Thank you so much!!

Smoking will undo all your progress. Keep going, you’re doing great! All weed does is give you an unhealthy escape. In the longer run all it does is increase our worries and anxieties. Been there for 30+ years and quitting smoking’s the best thing I did in my life (although I didn’t understand that at the time, started drinking heavily which took me another 5 years to quit).

One day at a time friend. Withdrawal takes some time. Hang in there, it will get better!!!

Thank you so much! It’s nice to hear people that have been where I have. Been 15 years for me… I’m tired of it… Take care!!

Maintaining a conscious contact with my higher power is what helped me get through the first 6 months. I was basically in a constant state of prayer. Imagine being on the phone with a loved one all day every day. Like one big open-ended conversation. Speaking quietly and softly when in public, soft enough where nobody could hear me. And speaking aloud as if my higher power was right there next to me in private. Any time I’d get stressed or get those intrusive thoughts, I’d talk about it. And I found that repeating “Thank you for keeping me sober. Thank you for keeping me sane.” distracted me enough and made me feel grateful enough to get me through.
