Merry Christmas to you! Well done my friend, let’s keep close together, together we can make this. You can be proud of yourself
@Sunshine-girl Merry Christmas!!! I hope you have a wonderful day. Yes, let’s have a beautiful sober Christmas together.
Crazy good. Keep going ![]()
I started this sober journey August this year! I managed to get 103 sober days. Which is a lot considering where I was this time last year. And I’m proud of myself. I’m so thankful for this community and all the support, I have received
Sobriety is the best gift I could have ever give myself. And honestly I don’t think I could have done without everyone’s support!
I look forward to many more days of sober this next year. I know there will be challenging day’s aheads with my alcohol demon
. But I have the tools and support needed to keep that demon in it place. I can stay sober. Get my head to my pillow at night, One day at a time.
Merry Christmas my TS family!
Well put and a great reminder daily that you have the tools and you are better off without the addiction. We will be right by your side too
.
Since mid December. I had a few reset… Hard to get that Demon under control again. And honestly can’t really say put much effort to it. But I’m done! I want this Demon gone. Enjoy my long stretch that had. I was even starting to feel a little better.
I have the next 6 days to myself without with the Hubby around. And get back on the sober train.![]()
I keep let myself. No more I need to get back to doing whatever it takes to go to bed sober. One day at a time. And that what I’m doing tonight going to bed sober!
Thank you for support and I’m going to make 2025 a year of sobriety
Happy new year to you and let 2025 be your year! Well done on getting to bed sober. Now take it day by day. You know how it works. It’s great you will have the next 6 days for yourself. Maybe you want to try an AA meeting? Online or in person? That’s what ultimately kept me sober and going. Wish you all the best
@Willowwhiny this gives me such hope!
My husband and I have drank together for a while and tried so many times to stop together. I just have to do me and hope my strength will motivate him.
I look forward to today-my day 2 of reset.
I can definitely relate to this, tbe great thing is that you can recognise when the addictive brain is taking over and trying to take control. I like to think of it as a pesky little enemy that tries to bully me in to doing something i actually dont want to do…So, Aside from maybe working at keeping that bully at bay, give yourself a break. Its not easy, you made a choice you didn’t like but you have acknowledged that now. If you continue to be hard on yourself it will probably only spiral in to a toxic situation and you deserve to give yourself some self love for all tbe hard work you are trying to do…
@4649Tobeme-now @Sunshine-girl @ComplexityQueen
Thank you all for your support. Waking up not freshly hangover definitely feels better. Committing to stay sober today.
That sounds like a great plan. Giving the sobriety everything you got will give you awesome results.
Great to read this! Let’s cast out that Demon and start the new year with a gung ho determination ![]()

I’m waking up today day 3! Feels so good to be here (again). And will do whatever it takes to go bed sober tonight. I have done good with my demon! It has surprisingly been pretty quiet. Or maybe it my sober muscle getting stronger and louder. Not saying, I have not had a few thoughts of it here or there. But l have been able to quickly put them to bed and moved on from them.
In reading around this morning a few post got me thinking about drinking, sobriety and spouse support, specially from a drinking buddy spouse, which I have.
It also got me reflecting on the my last time drinking with the hubby! Which frankly and not shocking was not much fun! Because it turned in to the normal drunken shit show. And during which I made arrangements for someone to go the beach for a few days. Which in the morning we both like what the hell… But that is another part to the story for another time.
I know he wants the best for me and me for him. I want to be supportive and be supported. But we both fight the same demon.
I also know for a fact that since he left the house, he continues to feed his demon(WTF). But he did that the last time too.
My sobriety is
my own. I will have to found the support elsewhere not expected it from him.
Not sure, where exactly I was going with thought but…
I have heard people say that “people say what they really mean when they are drunk” wondering how true that really is…. ![]()

Enjoying another me day and staying sober today!!!
Yesterday, was a tough emotional day!! I’m so glad, I was sober when the day went south!
And this morning waking up I’m proud of myself, I had my demon in its place at the moment.
Life is so very short and the biggest regret the end, I know will be is how spent my time. Drinking it away instead of being active in my life.
I’m also finding myself reflecting on Hubby which frankly I’m little irate about the zero effort he made on his own. And yes, I know are sobriety is both our own.
But I saw another side to this disease that I really hadn’t seen before because was on the wrong side of it. I’m talking about the side where we hurt and disappoint the ones we love because we let the demon have control of our day.
I don’t know what will happen with me and hubby. Not sure the last few chapters of have together. I was upset with him being buzz yesterday afternoon, I could tell and he was trying so hard to hold together and hide it. I don’t know……and right now don’t have too.
What I do know is I’m DONE with my Fucking ALCOHOLIC DEMON
!!!
I will not let alcohol take one more moment from my life! I will be present in my life good or bad!!!
I have today, I will put my head, on my pillow sober again tonight! I get to have one more ME day!! I will spend it with my puppies engaged in my life!!!
So grateful that you got through your emotional day so we. Hopefully you are doing better today ![]()
This is your journey and I’m so happy to see you putting in the solid effort each and every day!
Fuck that alcohol demon…not today demon
… Have a wonderful ME day ![]()

Turned 55 today! I’m so happy that I give myself the best gift
every by kicking my alcoholic demon
to the curb!!
I found that enjoy the small things so much more especially being outside in nature. Maybe it’s because I spent some many days wasted in bed hangover and begging to live.
Those days are gone no more killing myself slowly and being hangover all the time. I’m going to enjoy the rest of my life without my alcohol
. It never bought me anything good! It only bought regrets and pain!
I’m going to make this chapter of my life better than the last.
Happy birthday ![]()
to me!!
