Hi @Babbles and welcome to the most awesome recovery app in the history of recovery apps ![]()
Back when I first got sober in 2004, the first thing I noticed was there seemed to be advertisements of alcohol everywhere ![]()
Nothing had changed except for my perception😀 and the desire, no need to never drink alcohol again.
As @Mno said the only way to deal with triggers, you can’t avoid, is to work through them.
It gives you a chance to exercise the lessons learned from your recovery program and to use the tools you’ve built up, just for such occasions.
That is provided you have a recovery program!
I got sober through AA and its kept me sober ever since.
Back then f2f AA meetings was about the only flavour on offer, today there are plenty of alternatives (SMART, Dharma etc) and online meetings as well as f2f.
You didn’t say if you have a program, if not start one now and learn the lessons and build up a tool kit.
Here’s a link to get you started ![]()
Stay strong, stay safe and above all else stay sober.
