Managed the Manchester Marathon in the UK today. 36,000 runners.

Bad knees, very warm (for us, with lots of people needing medical attention) and age not on my side, made it a slow time but always great to finish.

Ah that’s really a lovely thing to say. I’m not always sure about people and think I don’t always react to people and relate to people well. But I do take people quite literally, and as such I’m genuinely touched that you should say that. :+1::+1::slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:xx

Tried so hard to do this entire fartlek but I ended up taking a walking break towards the end. I enjoy intervals but fartleks are hard workouts!!

Interval stuff followed by a recovery run :woman_running:t2::heart:

Ive been struggling with being benched from running which feels like forever but maybe its been 2 weeks. Ive been working with a physical therapist on left knee pain 2x per week. No squats. No running. He finally said i could try jogging and i got to this morning.

In my defense my watch called it a recovery exercise yet i did jog a mile  physical therapist may say thats not pacing myself. No knee pain! But i have pain behind my right buttcheek now…potentially overcompensating? sigh gotta remind myself not to go all out and be patient with self

Feel good about this hour treadmill walk/jog

I started using this app called Pliability and it has helped me a lot with my aches. I was still having symptoms of plantar fasciitis and having hip /It band pain. I’ve been using the new app for about 2 months now and both problems have gone away. I try to do at least a routine a night. They are 15-20 minutes so I just do them after work.

Did more weights today (sans squats) than running. Took it easy on the tread but it felt like i was close to pushing it.

Todays a perfect day for a walk

Freaking A this was a magnificent run! I love running in the dark, early on sunday when there is no traffic and the birds are chirping. They did some new pavement and it was so soft!! Add that to the things I love lol
5K sunday :white_check_mark:

I’m thinking about signing up for an endurance race. They have 8 hour time frame but I think I would sign up for the 4 since it’s my first time. Basically you just run a 2 mile loop as many times as possible in the 4 hours.

Holy moly 4hrs of straight running? You can do it!

This felt good. My pt recovery jog this morning. I did better at pacing as im being mindful not to overdue it and hit a setback with my knee. Able to run longer keeping a slower pace. Felt strong.

Patience young runner. Patience.

They have an 8 hour option too :joy: but with this being the first event I’ve done like this I didn’t want to be too ambitious. They have an aid station at the start of the loop so I think people can stop and snack between loops so it wouldn’t be 4 hours straight.

Geez, you might as well just do a marathon!

:joy: I’ve always said I’ll never do a marathon… 26 miles is just so long. I feel like I’d need weeks to recover from that.
I figure with slow pacing I’ll be doing maybe 4 miles an hour so I might/maybe get 16 miles done in 4 hours. We shall see. It’s not until November so I have some prep time.
I signed up for that half today so that’s officially happening next month

Cool, as you know, I love Halfs!

However, I got suckered into a full marathon at the end of the month. A friend of mine’s wife broke her arm. She offered to transfer her bib to me. What choice did I have? Ha! I’m a little nervous, it’s been a long time.

Where’s your half?
