Running in Recovery in 2024-2026

Time trial for my garmin plan. Mile 3 was hard!! But it said to run hard. I also had headwind at every turn :grimacing: It was only 56 but I was wishing I had gloves cause my hands were freezing! Fall/winter running is my favorite. I don’t mind the cold cause you can always put layers on but you can only take off so many when it’s hot lol

Went out for a little run. It has been rainy / my period / kids stuff to do, so I haven’t been for a while. Managed a few rounds of one song walk, two songs run.

Very strong first 4 miles but I just couldn’t get my breathing right today. It felt like I was struggling. Took a walk break and slowed it down for the last 2 miles

The consistency :partying_face:The pace  The weather

It was 50F which I love but the wind was blowing so it made it feel closer to 40F. Broke out a long sleeve shirt for the first time in forever. I do some of my best running when it is dark and cold lol

Ran 6mi straight for the first time in my life! Feeling good. It was a free run so no garmin prompts. Happy fall runs

Sometimes free runs are the best ones! Great job on 6 straight miles :flexed_biceps::flexed_biceps:

No idea how or why this felt easy but it did and I’m grateful. The only struggle for me today was the wind but it’s just that time of year. While I despise the wind, I’ll take it over heat any day

Shout out to @Runningfree for suggesting cvg leggings. Its in the 50s here and the fleeced lined leggies had me cozy.

Today was sprints. My stupid watch has me at an anerobic shortage and im struggling to get there with weightlifting or sprints.

Solid effort today. Tried listening to blues to slow my speed. Felt right.

15min run
7 sprint efforts
10min run

I love my cvg!! I haven’t broke out my fleece lined yet. I have to wait until it’s in the 20-30s for that lol

Nice run today!! You gonna try out for the olympics with that 4 min pace? :exploding_head:

My 8 miler was a bit of a struggle today. The first bit was good but then I was having a hard time holding the pace the watch wanted for the 4 miles and then the last 2 were a slow walk/jog situation. I think my period is around the corner. I always feel weak when it’s lurking

I’m still working the 10k plan and it’s making me run 8 miles again next week. Garmin gave me the logic of being able to go further will help me go faster :woman_shrugging:t2: I don’t have anything else to do lol that’s the only reason I’m doing this

I used to run A LOT and race 5k/10k/5 milers. I learned everything about training and getting fast from this book: Run Fast | Hal Higdon

Thanks!! I’ll check out that book. I have a friend who uses his training program and she enjoys it

First longish run since half marathon last weekend. I’m beginning to embrace the monotony of life.
