Race day excitement…take off in 22min. March may be too early for a run. Its 35degrees rn. My goal is to run nonstop but i also want to beat my fastest 5k. We shall see.

Dude my garmin tracked 3.08mi and not 3.1 so missed out on a pr :frowning: but i did get #1 in my age group and ran nonstop! It was good having a kid as my pacer lol

Whats weird is i want to run somemore. Maybe im ready to run my 10k nonstop this time next month?

Awesome! I would count it as a PR, personally. Race planners can screw up, but watches can too:smiley: Especially when it is that close. If it was a quarter mile off, well then maybe I’d reconsider.

Either way, great job!!

The longest run in the training block I’m doing. It was suppose to be 12 miles but my feet/legs were trashed so when I saw my street I called it. I was just a snail walk/sorta jog pace towards the end. This is the longest run I’ve done in over a year. My last half was Jan of 2024 before all my back issues. The shoes were great and the gels were good. I tried blueberry, mango and raspberry today. The only one I didn’t like was raspberry. It was very tart. I plan to rest my legs and do some stretchy yoga later to help with recovery. I got a 4 miler tomorrow :upside_down_face:

Way to show out @Runningfree at what miles do you do the gels?

I do them every few miles. Rule of thumbs is every 30-40 minutes. I don’t use them for under 5 miles. I’m sure some people do but I find I have enough energy to make it through 5 or shorter.
