Yeah, and check out “Japanese Slow Running” if you really want your mind blown.
I was suppose to do a 9 miler this morning but it was hot, my body is not feeling it’s best (pretty sure I’m about to start) and that made my mind not be in it. However 75 miles for the month is pretty good so I’ll feel proud of that. There will always be another run, tomorrow in fact ![]()
5K sunday went much better than yesterday’s long run attempt. My garmin is very wrong with the HR. I have never ran and had that low of a HR
Week 5 of 12 ![]()
Oh man, did you see this? She got led off the course costing her US half-marathon championship.
I can’t seem to post the link. Google Jess McClain.
Good morning running crew
I ran a treadmill 5k this morning. My mind wanted me to quit in the first mile but i just kept on. I decided i need to prove to myself i can do it. Its been awhile since i got distance. Checking in proud and ready for my race next saturday. The goal is to run a 5k straight in the wild
It wasn’t just her. It was the top 3. I saw people blaming them because they should have drove or ran the course prior to the race but that’s crazy! If I’m in a championship I would hope I could rely on the pace car to know the route
Oh thats messed up!
Agreed. They are missing out on worlds and the olympics because of this mistake. That’s high stakes. I feel bad for the runners cause you know they worked hard to get to that championship
The humidity in TX is so rough ![]()
I did not feel like I was running this slow but I did take multiple walk breaks
I hope things are going ok in tx @Runningfree
This mornings run was produced by chatgpt. It was intervals and endurance and it was hard af. Garmin says it was a productive threshold run. Definitely not a zone 2 run. My heart and breathing was intense. I still need to figure out a trick for deep breaths while exhausted from running. I do the stick the tounge out and that seems to help.
7 out of 10 done today. I wanted to use the treadmill but the hotel only has 1 and an older man was on it. I waited 30 minutes and went and checked and he was still there so I headed out. The traffic was thick and the hills were hard.
@Cjp It’s going ok-ish. Haley has been depressed since I left and I’m starting to get homesick. I go home monday and I have to work this weekend so I can’t leave early. It’s frustrating because people are like I hope your dad gets better but I don’t think he will. It’s a nice sentiment but he is in active heart failure and that’s not something you just get better from. I’ve gone to see him pretty much every day but he gets so tired just from talking. Yesterday I was there for like 15 minutes before he passed out. He refused to go to a nursing home so my sister got a crash course from the home health nurse on how to change his IV. She has to go every day at the same time to put a new bag on. From what the doctor said the IV is making his heart beat stronger and if the Iv stops his heart can stop so it’s pretty serious.
Thats intense and i know it brings complicated emotions for you. Im glad you have this opportunity to show up. And youre maintaining your running. Good for you sis!
Forgot to post yesterday. I had a tempo run and I celebrated 1 year of running at least a 5k every sunday ![]()
Headed home today and I’m so very ready!!!
Me again. I had to stop for traffic twice but no walk breaks today ![]()
It was a chilly 31F when I set out and honestly I really enjoyed it
