I am scared I am experiencing my first day sober since 1982.
I wish you well. Scary but you will wake up fresh and guilt free. Let us know how you get on
What do I do…
I guess you want to be sober…I would go for a walk…watch TV…drink something else…
You BREATHE, don’t think too much, find something your passionate in, something you can throw yourself into and get lost (mine is the gym) taking my own advice btw
The first hardest step is DONE already; you decided your own future
Also post all day in this app here bc these people will become your best friends who you have never met
We’ve all asked that @Phixius.
You’re going to do all the stuff you normally do. Or, if like many of us, you just drank in the evening, you’re going to find you have a lot of time on your hands! And just for a bit of fun, God’s going to make every day feel like a week for a little while!
You need a plan, and luckily the brilliant people on this forum are bursting with good ideas and things to do.
First things first though, no-one has much to go on so far - maybe start a new topic, under the same category, introducing yourself and your story?
If you want to get sober, tell your story, or as much as you’re comfortable with, to give the regulars on the site something they can (and will) help you with.
Then jump right in and read everything you can on the forum, get on youtube and watch every video you can about alcoholism, google everything you can, understand your enemy, because the first few weeks are going to be war!
And priority one is, if you relapse, pick yourself back up and start again!
Seems impossible? We all think that - you can do this. One day at a time!
@Phixius
Start by going to as many meetings as you can I believe in doing 90 meetings and 90 days. Make sober friends and look for a sponsor. It will get better just don’t give up.
