“Cinco de Mayo”, or the Fifth of May, is a holiday (not federally observed) here in the United States. It’s a day when people generally observe Mexican and Hispanic heritage with food and beverages brought here by their cultures. Most of the time it’s just another excuse for people to drink and get plastered. This is the fourth Cinco de Mayo that I get to just hunker down at home with my dog and not go anywhere. Because there will be drunk drivers out there putting people at risk all day long, and all night. Many of them started celebrating on Friday and they won’t stop until Monday morning. Thank God I never have to be like that again. Day 1,311 of continuous sobriety.
