Seeing someone driving drunk

I recently joined a club, it’s a nice place with friendly people and there’s a club hut you can stay at for just a few pounds per night.

I stayed last week for quite a few days in a row (whereas previously I’ve just stayed the odd night here and there) it turns out there is this guy who basically lives there, he was there all the days I was, and no sign of leaving.

Thing is he was really drunk. Slurring, didn’t take really obvious ques of when you were trying to get away from him and round up the conversation. I would not be too bothered about this except for two things:

  1. the club bedroom is a shared bunk room, NO WAY am I sleeping in the same room as a drunk man in his 60s. I had to sleep on the floor of another room which is not ment for that purpose.

  2. more than once he was out for the day and arrived back in his car, steaming drunk, having driven about the country roads.

I don’t know what to do about this.

Is there an owner/manager of this club? Could be worth bringing your concerns to them. You mightn’t be the only person this individual is making uncomfortable.

What an uncomfortable situation. He needs to be reported to the club management. You’re paying to have a safe place to sleep. Can you report the drunk driving to the authorities? Give details about his car, plate number and times. Maybe they can send an officer out at around the time he normally returns. I don’t know what else can be done.
