As overdose awareness month comes to a close, September begins the month of recovery. This is my story. It’s not pretty, but if you look, there is beauty to be found even in destruction. As I truly have traveled through darkness to find me. Just as so many of you have. We tell our stories, we speak of our rock bottoms so that others may not die alone… As addicts we fight battles no one else can see… There are many times where we storm the darkness alone. But when we make it out, what a sight we are to behold
Addicts, women, men, fighters. What a sight you are to behold. Each one of us, fighting addiction in some form, have risen from the soot of our ground zero. We are stronger and we are braver than we ever thought we could be.
