Serendipitous Moment

Something I used alcohol for was self medication when it came to social anxiety or crowds.
Today I decided to go to a festival in town and I was struggling with overwhelming overstimulation. Those are the moments I would usually turn to alcohol to calm down.
As I was leaving the festival I walked by a booth of an artist packing up their things. I was drawn to this print of their work. I hadn’t read the story on the back until after I’d gotten to my car.

It truly moved me and reminded me of why I’m on this path of sobriety and self discovery. :sparkling_heart:

“Colorful people from other traditions find them”

I love that line. It’s so true. My journey has been so deeply - positively - impacted by people from other traditions, other experiences: I don’t see it until it has already happened, but it comes (for me) from being open and honest. The honesty is the scary part because I never know what’s going to happen next. I’ve never regretted it though :innocent:
