I got the blue one for my son for Christmas and it is BEAUTIFUL! They come in such pretty colors
I so need one of those. Was it expensive?
Hey Rebecca! It was quite expensive, £200 but I use it all the time and it’s great being able to make fresh without any additives. You can get all sorts of shape ends but it comes with, lasagna, penne, spaghetti and fettuccine fittings. It really is a fab gadget. Philips viva pasta maker there’s loads of vids on YouTube
A standmixer. Never had one, always wanted one. So far it’s been about lack of space in the kitchen and lack of money.
My partner in crime, LOL. I use a kettle frequently and daily. It’s really handy in baking bc I can set a temperature. This particular model was out of production but I found one 2nd hand. I wish it’ll have a happy long life.
Oh, those temperatures are given in centigrade, if anybody wonders… LOL
Some peculiar items.
Cheese slicer. I don’t buy sliced cheese but a good ol chunk. It’s really good for slicing cucumber too.
I think I’ve posted this before… A can opener. I’ve never seen anything the like anywhere else in the world. It’s so simple compared to the huge gadgets in Germany, e.g.
I have been going back and forth with that one. I even had it in my Amazon cart but didn’t end up paying for it lol I wanted to get a reference from someone that had used it before to see if it was worth it! Now I know TY!
Olivia they can take up some counter space… not gonna lie!!! Lol and if you wanted to put it away, cupboard space too! There are a few brands that are a tad bit smaller, but still bulky. I’ll let @Milele know they make wonderful Christmas gifts
We don’t have tater tots here (I wish we did) would it work with wedges or French fries too?
Ah yes, osthyveln. I was about to give one to my American best friend, before she said that there was no need to. Because all their cheese is pre-sliced.
Over here, we don’t really like the pre-sliced one. The old fashioned bulk tastes best.
It’s amazing how a spoon can be so useful. I hope you find a new one. Wood ones are my favorites
I have one heavy wooden one. It’s used only for Santa’s porridge because it’s to heavy or clumsy for anything else, and the plastic ones are to weak for Santa’s porridge.
I love the cheese slicer.
We had one at the deli for happy hour because we always put out a big block of cheese. This was years ago. I’d say 90% of the people had no idea how to use it. Most of them would use it like a knife and cut downward on the cheese. Sometimes as manager I’d help and show them how to use it. Sometimes I’d just stand there and laugh
All right. Most of the time I laughed.
And an electric kettle is a must.
Yeah, I know they take space. Maybe one day I’ll have kitchen that can fit all the gadgets I’m dreaming of having. Quite tricky storing stuff in my little studio so I stick to bare necessities.
Haha, that’s funny!
It can be hilarious when you go to different countries and try out weird kitchenware. I had zero success with a German can opener
Love this thread!!!
Here’s my biggest obsession: my utensil corner and my newest peelers. I’ve had the julienne peeler for a while, but the green one is for asparagus and the yellow for corn kernels. Love them. My Mami recently gifted me a bunch more wooden spoons, which I also love. Some that I have are at least 40 years old. Oh, and that is my piggy microwave cover, too.
Beautiful color! I have a red one, my fav.
