LOL and the creeper finger puppet somehow made its way in there! Eric and I have been moving it around.

My favourite knife. Not because I use it the most -I use it mainly to cut bread- but because it’s a heirloom and I really love the carved handle. It’s called a peerdemes or horse’s knife from the southwest of the country. Every farmer there used to have one.

Magnetic knife holder. There’s no going back to keeping knives scattered in a drawer.

Other than my red Kitchenaid stand mixer (which doesn’t get enough use) these are my favorite kitchen appliances. I guess I have a penchant for Cuisinart brand? My Mami bought me the food processor a couple years ago and I’ve had the immersion blender a long, long time. I really don’t like plastic on these tools so I paid the money for a good glass jar blender. Then I just followed suit and got this toaster oven which is also great. It just has an obnoxiously loud beep when it’s done that my husband keeps threatening to disengage. I told him go for it! But if he breaks it he has to buy me a new one
Oh and the immersion blender is a calphalon brand, nothing too fancy but a work horse.

P.S. all the salsas and sauces and whatnot I make are made using these tools.

It does an excellent job with French fries. Baked potatoes too.

About a year and a half ago I broke down and purchased a 6 quart Instant pot when Amazon had it on sale for $59. I figured these were a passing fad but I love it. It’s fantastic when making chicken bone broth. The bones are falling apart after 3-4 hours on high pressure. I also use it to steam tamales and veggies. If you’re in a hurry you can cook frozen meat and serve it within an hour. It’s wonderful when cooking with dry beans and I even made yogurt once.

Show me your go-to frying pan for things that stick, like eggs, etc, that are non-Teflon. I love my cast iron but not tried eggs in it (but maybe I should try!)

Hmmm…I did scrambled eggs once in my large cast iron frying pan. They stuck but cooked. I imagine a fried egg would have done better with lots of oil. I have no experience with stainless (other than Instant pot) or ceramic coated pans.

Just got a new kitchen toy as an early birthday present! A Breville Smart Oven Air to replace my little toaster oven. It’s massive, even though I measured everything out it still seems huge, but the spot I had picked out for it is working fine. So far I’ve only done inaugural toast  but can’t wait to try air frying something soon! I am also looking forward to not heating up my entire tiny (and lacking airflow) kitchen in the summer time and hopefully using less energy, as well.

While I was cleaning and rearranging my kitchen countertop I found this tool in the back of a drawer. I used it once and forgot about it, but it’s really handy! It is back in rotation, lol  Works great for breaking apart bricks or tubes of ground meat and I’m sure there are other useful applications.
