I know it’s crazy difference in appearance and every time I used to see my PO I would think it was the poster dude that you see for a drug campaign…nope that dude was me lol I’m just glad that I never have to be that person as long as I stay vigilant in my recovery so I go to meetings I have a sponsor I work steps I’m of service and have a higher power that understand me

and last week on holiday in Spain age 70 (44 years later )

Lost about 53lbs in seven months. I’d say 52lbs was my belly. Will say I’d rather post my liver panels between the 6 months. It’s an amazing thing how the body heals itself if you treat it even halfway decent.

Ok…here goes.
Me, on vacation in late November 2017. Swore I wasn’t gonna drink. Bought non-alcoholic beer. Drank it in about an hour, then walked to a drug store to buy the real stuff. Overweight, High BP, pre-diabetic, fatty liver…oh, and my wife was reluctantly planning for life without me.
Me, about 6 weeks into sobriety, still trying to figure it out, but determined to do so
Me, at 11 months sober, training martial arts with a world champion. BP high but within normal range. 50 lbs lighter. Blood sugar and liver enzymes normal.
Me, about a month ago, advertising a martial arts seminar I am giving tomorrow.
