Beautiful work… And @Pica I love it

That is beautiful work Mike. You have talent. I’m happy you’re developing it - your talent makes the world a richer, more colourful place, and it helps bring people’s visions of themselves to life. That’s awesome

Thanks Matt, that really means alot. And needed that reassurance today.

Your work matters Mike, as art generally, and as tattoo specifically.

Art is essential to humanity. Art is how we give shape, give form to our ideas. Art is how we understand balance, beauty, form, and many other things; art is how we communicate ideas and feelings that can’t be expressed in words (a picture is worth a thousands words - and in my opinion a painting or tattoo is worth a million).

Tattoo is for many people a deep cultural mark, something that is close to their identity, humanity, and sense of place. Whether it’s tattoo as done on the Pacific islands or tattoo as it developed in military and prison environments in the 20th century, or any of the many other types of tattoo, the art of tattoo is a choice someone makes to belong. “I wish my body to show this. I wish to be part of this, physically - I want to represent this, bodily.”

Tattoo does that in a way nothing else does.

What you do matters Mike. It will always matter. For decades after today, people will look at your work, siblings of your client, children of your client, and your work will be part of their identity, their expression - your expression, on their canvas.

Take care brother and keep exploring your expression. You are a valuable creator in the world :innocent:

@Letthesunshinein really interesting. The first ones are a little bit sad but powerful

Yes those are very sad I can remember pulling out the pen in desperation while sitting on my porch stoop yet again into the wee hours of the night drinking my life away trying to figure out how to Express how I was feeling. The next day I woke to see the mind throw up on the paper instead of crying I just went and picked up again to numb what I was hiding from… now when I see those I get to cry in a healthy way knowing that that woman can be healed she is loved she is worth it and I will fight for her because she can’t fight for herself! And as long as I don’t pick up that first drink that woman won’t ever have to hurt like that again!

Gorgeous painting! I love your use of colour! …and I also love the Roald Dahl collection it’s sitting against. My son and I are working our way through his children’s collection.

@Letthesunshinein thank you so much for explaining the depth of your art

I have the hardest time getting good pics, need to invest in a better camera. Always has glare. But I got to finish this piece that I started a while ago. This guy had the toughest beat up working hands so it did not heal good but it still looks ok. And Incase anyone is wondering what it is, it’s a trucker knob ripping through the skin
