Show the artist within you (Part 3)

Thank you!!

I’m glad you’ve found your way to TS, this is a great place to find support for recovery from addictions of all sorts! Also, a cool place to share stuff like art, films, nature, sports, music and plenty more! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses::call_me_hand:

I like the silly one much, much better. Positive self talk is a big part of how I broke out of my depression, no need to be calling myself stupid for any reason. Silly though, that I can get down with :face_holding_back_tears:

The first time I heard the KISS acronym was actually in an AA meeting years ago! A good tip for any new comer and old-time alike!

I also had to change the way I self-talk. I thought, would I talk to my best friend this way? If I did, I would be rightfully called an asshole and toxic. So, why is it okay for me to talk about myself this way?

Suddenly I began to open up to self-love and self-acceptance. And I started to see myself kinder… like a child almost. Would I talk to 5-year-old me that way?

Yeah, I’d never, ever talk to anyone the way I used to talk to myself, let alone friends and family. I definitely need to empathize with my inner child on some days!

I appreciate the reminder :face_holding_back_tears:

I started making tiny collages about mental health last year.

Thanks. I still feel nervous about sharing but also proud. I am having a small expo in a few weeks with these collages. There are 10 in total in this sequence.

I am so glad that you stepped out of your comfort zone and have shared these with us. They are incredible! They’re hauntingly beautiful and uncomfortably relatable. You are a powerful artist! :clap:t2: :people_hugging:

I don’t know a lot about art but I love what the light is doing on the trunk here. The whole thing is beautiful.

It’s funny, for the past three months, I’ve been watching the light fall on the tree trunks and the clouds, near and far, as it glides over or penetrates the masses. It’s a stimulating obsession. The brushstrokes come from memory. In any case, I can see the progress.
