I guess combination. Oily in the t-zone.

And I’m super ashamed to say I wash my face with whatever soap is around. I need a grocery list for what to buy. I do use witch hazel and Burt’s Bees moisturizer.

It’s not bad, it’s just harsh… My skin would dry up with regular soap and anything that suds a lot strips the oil from my face, which in turn creates more oil and makes me break out…

Vitamin c serum will help with dark spots

Hyaluronic acid is a moisturizer that’s good for all skin types

Retinol (get a low percentage like 2% and use every other, 3rd day and only at night… Then gradually use every night) helps with fine lines and acne.

I use an oil around my eyes.

The set of three can be bought separately, I only use the vitamin c sporadically because it makes my skin have a weird film/scaly-ness lol to it.

The oil, you could literally just buy Argon or Jojoba oil for $6 and it would most likely do the trick. That little bottle should last me a year though.

Paula’s Choice is a great brand if your budget can handle it.

This is just my routine, it took me a while to figure out what worked. I’ve tried a lot of stuff if you want to PM me and discuss.

Any recommendations for a 44 year old who has deep forehead wrinkles and has spent way too much time out in the sun in the south?

Botox lol kidding that’s my biggest problem area as well, my forehead lines.

For the sun damage: The vitamin c serum might help, sheet masks with hyaluronic acid, or ā€œwhiteningā€ in the title might help too. I know it’s a little controversial of a label, but it seems to work.

Thank you! I’ll give it a shot!

Holy smoke! I just realized that hyaluronic acid is what my orthopedist recommended I take for arthritis in my knee!

Haha it’s a miracle ingredient…I think it helps with inflammation and lubrication lol

If you find something for our forehead lines lemme know :joy:

Also I plan on getting a lot more smile and laughing lines on my new sober journey!!! So while I appreciate having nice skin, the lack of lines is from lack of emotion and I’m ready to tap into some new kinda of life from here on out.

The best skin care I’ve ever used in my life is simple shea butter and avocado oil.

Basically I melt some shea butter in the microwave and then stir in some avocado oil. When it solidifies again it is more creamy.

I don’t have specific ratios. I do it by guessing. If I get it too runny I melt it with a little more shea butter again. If it is too hard I melt and add a little more avocado oil.

I swear this stuff has firmed my face and hands, got rid of all rough skin on my feet, lifted my sagging neck, smoothed my yucky chest, taken away my crepey legs…magic elixer!!! And it doesn’t cause acne. Very low comedogenic score.

I also made a face scrub of azuki beans ground up in a coffee grinder. And I made a foot scrub with Himalayan pink salt, a little oil, and nice smelling esential oils. Next time I might try coarse sugar instead since the salt stings a bit on my legs. But I hardly need any foot cream when I use it.

And of course…I love a good sheet mask too!!

Don’t knock Botox. I PROUDLY get my frow lines injected. I looked like Tom Seleck before I did. No cream in the world was going to fix that. LOL

Does it help a lot? My horizontal expression lines are ghastly.

Oh I am fully in support of it… Then again I live in southern California where that seems to be more normal than not

A makeup guru I follow on YouTube gets her’s done, she had the Tom seleck line shown above though… The horizontal ones I’m not sure about, would love to know though!

So, I get it for the frown…but it is completely smooth now (after several years of injections). When it wears off I can see that I make the frown but the wrinkle isn’t permanent anymore.

I have seen that the horizontal lines around that area are gone too…so I’m sure if would work if the injections were put in the same place.

Honestly, it does NOT prevent you from making facial expressions…unless you inject your entire face. LOL

I wish workers comp covered this :joy:

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at a certain situation at work and whispered to myself …wtf?..
