I don’t like the concept of AA, my therapist recommended SMART recovery to me. They use established scientific principles to guide the recovery process, without the religious overtones. The first few chapters of their book have been enlightening. And its a short book!
They have meetings around the world and they maintain up to date information about recovery and methods.
I’m going to one of their meetings this week as my first AA meeting was a little too spiritual for my tastes.
I don’t think going at recovery alone is the best idea, but this will at least help give structure.
Has anyone tried SMART?
