I got my 4 month chip today @ an AA meeting. This specific meeting I go to gives chips every month for the first year, so I enjoy getting the month reminders of how well I’m doing.
This is the first time I’ve ever had any sort of length in sobriety, minus being in jail or a residential treatment center that I was forced to enter in the 21 years I’ve been in active addiction.
What makes it better this time around is that I decided to do it. The difference between past attempts and this time is that I actually believe it’s possible for me to stay sober and have hope in finding out what I want to do with my life (only 34 yrs old) and have realistic, attainable goals.
I just wanted to share some of my happiness with the community tonight. = )

That’s how old I am! That’s extremely encouraging!
I’m just getting my grade 12 finished right now and looking to go back to school in the new year. I did 6 months in treatment, but ended up using 2 1/2 months in but finished strong and have been out for a month now and life is a new kind of refreshing
