Sober feeling hungover 🤕

So the weirdest thing happened… both my wife and I decided to stop drinking. Anyways, for some strange reason I woke up today feeling like I’d drunk yesterday (which I didn’t). I began explaining it to my wife and she said she woke up feeling the same way. Have anyone experienced that?

Yes! Just this morning actually, I figured it was dehydration from not drinking enough water last night and waking up with the sun on me. I have had that after a takeaway too. Scary when you wake up but so nice as soon as you register you didn’t drink after all.

Lol, it’s funny now but this morning I was like “WTF”! I didn’t feel like hungover, just low energy and tired. I just laid in bed for an hour or so after waking up. My wife said she woke up with a headache. Weird!

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. You totally panic and retrace your steps wondering what happened. Luckily a glass of water and a coffee meant an hour later I was fine.

No sir. I actually don’t even like beer. I was a bourbon drinker. I only drunk lemonade and water yesterday. I’ve heard of alcohol free whiskey but I’m afraid to try it. Afraid it’ll make me want some real bourbon.

I get this a lot. I’m 80 days in Sober and still get foggy and weird mornings. They really kick hard.

Oh wow congratulations on the 80 days

Happens to me when I am sleep deprived, actually. Foggy mind and just an awful feeling in my throat and chest. Less than 4 hours of sleep makes me feel like I’m hungover and smoked cigarettes. Very weird.

I feel the same without good sleep. The worst are drinking dreams where you wake up and are really convinced you drank and did something stupid.

I actually think that’s what it is. My sleep has been off schedule the past few days. I’ll try to go to bed a bit earlier today.

Lol, haven’t had those yet. I’m only a week in the game though so… I love hearing what others have dealt with so I won’t think I’m crazy if it happens to me.

Thanks twinnie.

It happens…… My friend calls them freebies… One time when I woke up and exhaled I thought I smelled alcohol. But that’s off of coffee sure feels better when that happens!

Congrats on a week. I did read that withdrawal brings in headaches in case that’s what your experiencing.

:joy::joy: I’m laughing with you, not at you. I’d probably would’ve freaked out. Sobriety is much easier when you have people that’s going through it with you. Thanks bud.

I don’t think it’s withdrawals. I think it’s just my sleeping schedule. Normally I’d drink myself to sleep. Lately I’ve been staying up later but still waking up early.

I see. I hope you are able to get good sleep in the coming days.

Call me crazy but I think humor can be valuable. Congratulations on your sobriety! Right now

If I have to much sodium this happens to me. I drink a lot of water, pretty much only water except my 1 mug of coffee in the morning.
