Interesting device. I do hope it helps resolve your pain.
My go to has always been no barefoot walking, ice massage with racquetballs filled with water and baby ultrasound wand I got for 35 buck off Amazon. PF fucking sucks! Oooh, may have to add it to the conglomerated list!
Hi Eric - I used something similar to stimulate my Achilles tendon as part of PT for a strain on it. It did provide relief, but it did change my sleep. My brace was more restrictive than yours looks to be, and the forced position made it difficult for me to turn in bed. I’m a pretty calm sleeper, but the occasional turn would sometimes wake me and interrupt my sleep.
You might need more naps, which I still balk at. Napping still carries a value label of “laziness” for me, and as my sleep and rest needs change, I find myself fighting a mental battle against the need or urge to nap.
I’ve had plantar fascia off and on since high school. Been through many kinds and styles of orthotics and even tried the Good Feet store. Seen many a doc podiatrist etc….. and even went to a running shoe store last time. They watched me walk. Recommended my “super feet” inserts. Amazon. Of course. And my New Balance kicks.
It’s been about 8 years since last flare up. Trying everything I can remember over the years. Especially the stretching, icing, rolling, and now this. It was recommended to me before but it was a big boot to sleep in. Didn’t want that.
This was like the medium sized one. I’ll give it time. I sleep great so no worries there. It’s always taken a while to get over it.
I take plenty of naps. Almost getting over the lazy stigma of it @SinceIAwoke I’m retired now so it’s time I get over that.
Never heard of the ultrasound wand @Smitty97 What’s that all about?
Thanks for the tips.
Hi Eric sorry to hear you struggling with PF. Have you heard of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy ( ESWT ) i had it done last year when podiatry were investigating my pain. Sadly for me it’s neuropathy and not PF. Might be worth looking into.
Nope. Never heard of that one.
Sorry you got that neuropathy. I got that too. But I think mine is a mild case. I don’t know an extreme case. Anyway. Just some nights I can’t have the covers on my feet. Cold and tingly all the time. Same with my fingers sometimes. Had a bunch of tests done. Probably damage from drinking 45 years. She said it shouldn’t get worse if I don’t drink. But won’t get better. Hope yours isn’t too bothersome.
For me it’s constant, a mixture of numbness and pain i can’t quite describe. It’s both feet hands and even my head since being prescribed Thiamine a couple of months ago I felt a fair amount of improvement and regained some energy which to me was like a miracle. However this made my brain think hey I can probably get away with drinking again. I did and noticed patterns of pain coming on strong again afterwards. Basically I have alcoholic neuropathy and I think alcohol abuse over the years caused damage to my digestive tract. I was told a few years ago I have esophagusitis. Severe Gerd and stomach issues especially after drinking. It looks like this damage has been stopping my body from absorbing Vitamin B1 from my food. This can lead to neuropathy, memory issues and severe fatigue, which ticks all my boxes. So here I am back to square one, but this time armed with this knowledge. If i STOP drinking I have a chance of reversing my issues. If I continue I can become quite poorly. Only time will tell but one things for sure I’ll never drink alcohol again.
US therapy can assist in healing, especially with scarations. Generates heat in deep tissues and promotes blood flow mainly. Works better on my neck/back muscles than my .
