There were some amazing views! It was challenging for me. The reviews I read said bring enough water. I took my camelback which is a liter but I also took 2 1.5liter water bottles in my backpack. I got back to my car with about 1 liter left :flushed: I was happy I took as much as I did. And hiking poles. If I ever do it again, those would have made it so much easier on my body. I’m very sore today

Drove out to La Jolla for a board meeting. 6 hrs on the road.
I told Chief it was for the sea.

Avoiding as much of the awkward pre-dinner schmoozing as I can

I’ve tried to avoid hiking poles, but my hiking buddy said and now you also say that they make really sense. Maybe I have to give in and buy some.

Trekking poles or even just a good hiking staff are a must IMHO, especially when also carrying a pack. Helps tremendously on hills, both up and down, and also provides stability when you lose your footing.

I was once on a 3-day hike on the AT. On the morning of the 2nd day, I slipped on a wet rock and really sprained my ankle good. Had I not had a walking staff I am positive I would have broken something. Also, I had to hike out on a bad ankle. No way I could have done that without the staff.

What a beautiful day it was!!! About 72 degrees on the mountain and not a cloud in the sky. I am in love with being outdoors, I wish I would’ve discovered nature sooner but I’m hooked now and I don’t care  I hope everyone had a great day today, love you guys :sunglasses::metal:t2:
