Family gathering last night. It was a little awkward since it’s usually a drinking event. But we left the moment I was being judge on my sobriety…it’s okay they will eventually get use to it.

Good for you, chica! Drinking culture is everywhere but unfortunately it is deep in certain families. I don’t know for certain about you, but I come from my Mami’s side, Mexican/Mexican American and it can be hard to break away from. I’m so proud of you!

Yes! I am grateful my parents raised us away from the party culture but it still got me (or I found it!). I used to party hard when visiting family. It is entirely within your power to be happy and sober and still enjoy the parties, but it’s also okay to give them a break for a while. Hit me up with a PM if you need to chat anytime.
