Today i recieved a beautiful gift from back home! A friend and support of mine has this ribbon skirt made for me. Ribbon skirts are a symbol of resilience, survival and identity. They are often worn in ceremony and are one way women connect to Mother Earth. I was given my spirit name by an Elder back home and the Aboriginal culture was a HUGE part of my journey (and still is to this day). Even though my HP is God today, I still incorporate alot of the culture into my life. I cant believe that even after 8 years being in this city away from my supports, my family, and my sisterhood, there are people who still think of me and are supporting me from over thousand km away. Im honored to wear this as it represents apart of who I am and my journey.
