Race did not go how I wanted but that is life so suppose. I finished, trying to be happy with that fact but pretty disappointed. Fueling up on food then to my hotel for a bath and nap

The fact that you finished is incredible. I did my first half marathon in March and they throw a lot of unexpected things at you. On mile 9-11 we had a massive hill that lasted for 2 miles. Things happen but the fact that you finished is incredible! You kicked ass!

Yea, they changed the race course a few weeks ago and part was trail and I’m not a trail runner so that was really hard on my body
@Dazercat you always have the best gifs :joy:
Thanks @Mischa84 and @lorelai :heart::heart:

Sometimes you just gotta throw the timer out the window. It’s all relative, a battle against oneself. You overcame, finished, conquered! It will make you better. You will look back fondly at that medal, I guarantee!

Had a beautiful weekend with my girls. But I am home now and miss them so much already. Friday night Addie comes and gets me to put her to bed. I picked her up and carried her to the bed and just held her for like 5 minutes straight just swaying back and forth. She finally said ok dad, you can put me down now

First sober camping trip!! I will be 1 week sober as of tonight. I anticipated this trip being hard as camping was typically an activity that involved constant drinking in the past. Anytime I feel a craving I just remind myself to think about how I’ll feel in the future once this becomes my norm and my body and mind are clear and free and strong! I’m so happy I am doing this for myself.
