Embracing the suck on a wet hike! Love it

Sometimes wet hikes are the best, when you’re prepared (a total bummer when you’re not). Rock on!

I enjoy hikes regardless, but typically am always prepared. Always have my camelbak water pack with rain and insulated jacket, toque, gloves, rain pants. Cliff bars, and emergency stuff like tarp, lighter, fat wood, extra cash, etc.
Hiking has been my passion for over a decade now.

Right on! I too love to hike and am grateful I am at a place in my life where I can be prepared for anything! It wasn’t always like that - impromptu hikes where it was sunny and 80 degrees, so I took off in shorts and tee-shirt, then get to elevation where it’s cloudy, raining and barely above freezing. That was no fun!! I tell you though, you only gotta do that once to learn your lesson!

Now adays I am into ultralight backpacking and usually do a big hike every other year, this will be this year.

I got lost twice overnight in the woods of NS in my late teens while hunting. It has taught me much about preparedness.
I spent some of my last 10 years in BC trudging around D the backcountry and hiking my way all over the place in that amazing province.
I’m now back home in NS after 27 years in BC but just waiting for my son to finish university and we’ll head back to our cabin in central BC and I’ll begin again getting into the mountains which is my favorite  place to be.
Usually get out for a couple nights per year for longer hikes but also live good long day hikes and then camping in my camper far back in the mountains… I look forward to those days very much.
