Sober Selfies #8

Yes. Waking up sober, rested, and ready to smash the day, instead of going to bed smashed, is one of the best and simplest benefits of sobriety. Simple, yet foundational. Keep getting better at getting better, each and every day. Better today than you were yesterday, and tomorrow better still. All you must do is stay sober today, setting the stage for a better tomorrow.

I use to get hangovers almost every single morning. But still kept drinking. Itā€™s not my most important reason for not drinking. But it feels so good not waking up to a hangover every morning for over a year now.
And by the way. 61 days looks fabulous on you.
Youā€™re so worth it.

I used to always say I didnā€™t get hungover well now I know thats because I was in a constant state of being hungover/drunk. It was just a way of life and I never realized how bad I felt until I stopped. Congrats on over a year thats amazing!!!

Once when I was required to do regular breath tests, I failed one morning with a 05 BAC, where 08 is the limit for DUI. And thatā€™s the way I normally felt. It didnā€™t strike me until much later that I had alcohol on board 24/7.

Hi everyone just thought Iā€™d show you this because Iā€™ve been feeling down lately. Some of you know that Iā€™m awaiting a full knee replacement so Iā€™m not active at all. The fishing photo was taken at the end of August last year. Iā€™d had about 10 cans of stella round about the time that was taken about 4 in the afternoon. Just a normal day for me.
Anyway Iā€™ve been down because Iā€™ve felt like Iā€™m not getting anywhere. Iā€™ve been alcohol free for just over 4 months now. So when I look at this photo now the change is unbelievable, well it is for me anyway. Itā€™s made me feel like Iā€™ve achieved something and feel so proud. Sorry if Iā€™m boaring you but I look like Iā€™m ready to have a heart attack in that other photo.
Being on here has been a massive bonus thank you xxx mickymo.

You look at least 10 years younger. Fantastic progress! Hang in there - it seems like everything is on hold, but youā€™re staying sober each day and thatā€™s always progress, too!
