The rides I do are really quite flat. The 6 mile ride I did that day was along a creek with only a few minor climbs, but nothing technical. It was a very comfortable pace. Best way to be able to do it is to just do it!

I personally think those electric bikes are awesome. If one gets you out on the road and moving than why not. Just use the assist when you need it. You’ll get stronger the more you ride.
I think everybody that rides needs padded shorts. Biggest improvement to riding in my opinion. Much more comfortable. You can wear regular shorts over them or buy baggie shorts with a pad in them.
