Checking in again. This is me 25days sober. Just had an ice cream, now im taking my kids to do some craft at the city center galery. I do not have any wishes to drink at all and it feels amazing. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

@anon12657779 yeah!!! Lets do this sober lifestyle. Im drinking sparkling water with lime right now and feeling happy. Dont wanna mention that one month ago I was drunk totally by now and wasnt able to walk or talk… In the mornings I was always wondering what happened last night. No more of this. It’s f’ing great to see you like this Ish! I do remember the difficulty you had a couple of weeks ago. Remember your pain. It’s great to see people pick up like you have after a difficult start.

Dinner service tonight was a ballache! Nothing picks me up at the end of a busy service more than a challenge!

Manager: ‘I need table 23, table 20 and table 103 out in no more 15 mins , 28 covers all day to clear…think you can do it?’

Me: ‘Watch this…’

My manager took a picture of me doing what Ive decided tonight im going to name ‘The Beethoven’. ‘The Beethoven’ is when you have every inch of the flat-top stove, the burners and the grills covered in pots, pans and skillets and you control everything with movement instead of utensils. I don’t do this often at all, maybe once every 6 months or if I need to get out of the weeds because of the obvious risks but I really really enjoyed myself :slight_smile:

I recently havent enjoyed myself at work so much and am posting this just because It felt really good to feel like a chef again :slight_smile:

Edit: I called it ‘The Beethoven’ because it reminds me of playing a piano.

I used to love the busy nights on the grill. 2 grills full of steaks, chicken, satay etc.
I knew exactly what was what and where.

Did you ever work the saucier? Thats my favourite without a doubt. One wrong move and youve got 3 split Hollandaise, a burned bbq sauce, an over-reduced peppercorn and a seriously pissed head chef!!
