Sober since 26 December 2020

The day after a big bottle of strong beer, I decided to stop drinking alcohol. So I entered 2021 sober in advance. I hope to stay like this forever. Morning in good shape is so nice.

But it seems that stopping it give me insomnia…I hope it passes soon.

I had insomnia too. I made myself stay on a routine, which included getting up early at the same time everyday. Staying as active as possible… even a walk can help. Instead of anticipating NOT being able to sleep I just tried to wind down in the evening and set the lights down low and get in the mood to rest. Whatever works, right. But it finally did pass. And overactive mind can keep anyone awake too. I also have a mindfulness app on my phone and do a couple of those when I first crawl in bed. Good luck and congratulations on making the decision to stop. All you have to worry about it today. Tomorrow you can take care of tomorrow. One day at a time it is possible.
