I have just published an update for Sober Time to both app stores. It should take a few days to be approved and will then be available for download - keep an eye out
The main feature that the update introduces is Streaks. Starting with the new update, Sober Time will keep track of days you opened it and will show your current streak in a few places. It’s a fun motivational tool to build habits and consistency.
This is not to be confused with your milestones or how long you’ve been sober. It simply tracks days where you opened and checked in with Sober Time. Because previous app versions didn’t track which days you opened the app, your streak will only start and be tracked from the first time you open Sober Time’s new update.
The first time you open the app each day you’ll see a little celebratory badge slide down that increases your streak count:
You can tap either the celebratory badge or the button in the main menu to open the full Streaks page. This will show you your current streak and also give you a glance at your streak for this week.
The update also fixes a few bugs and adds some validation for Savings tracking as your heading mode. I’ve seen some people set savings as their heading mode without actually setting up how much they spend, which will just always show 0 savings. You’ll now get a warning if yours is already like this and you won’t be able to pick a savings heading mode without entering your spending first.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but as it is the most recent post about updates I figured it would be ok!
I really enjoy how the journal tab has inspired me to journal on a daily basis and help me work through some uncomfortable emotions and memories in a positive way. Unfortunately as of Feb 25 all of my daily prompts in the journal tab read “About your day” instead of previous, more unique and thought provoking questions. This “About your day” prompt seems to continue daily for the foreseeable future. Did I do something to cause this?
The streak counter on my iPad keeps displaying a 1 day streak message, even though on the journal the streak banner is correctly displayed for 15 days. This started after about a dozen days of correctly displaying the streak count banner on the Home Screen.
Hi Robin, the streak feature is only showing the leading digit in the pop-up ie I’m on 21 days and it only shows 2, and it doesn’t always pop-up when I first log on. &
Hi Robin, I agree with @Lezourez, when I rolled over to 20 consecutive days checking in, my counter went to 2. So only the leading digit is displayed. That seems like a small fix.
I’m sorting out a few of these bugs with the next update. Thank you for catching them, a new feature always has these little things that are easily missed.
Hi Robin - perhaps @Lezourez will agree that the counter display can be seen in my screenshot See previous post here just above. The “1 day streak” message has an extra space between 1 and Day and should read 15 Day Streak.
I made some tweaks to the streaks features, I tested with a streak of 1427, which displayed fine everywhere. The update has been sent to Google and Apple. It’s already live on Google Play, but Apple tends to only review and approve on weekdays.
