i woke up and the first thing i did was throw up after finally thinking my appetite was back yesterday evening. i have had disturbed sleep and am still highly anxious. i still feel nauseous after the vomiting. lack of energy i dont know if thats from a crap sleep or because my body is physically crying out for something ive put into ot for an extensive amount of time and now ive deprived it of it. maybe both i dont know. i feel everything at once and so intensely. thank you for everybodys support since ive joined the community its helping me through this more than i can put into words. is there anything i can do for this nausea its like having morning sickness again and im definitely not pregnant
my legs have been quite shaky the past 24 hours aswell whereas the first 2 days it was my hands? does this mean anything?
It sounds like withdrawal which is definitely no fun but certainly worth pushing through to make it to the other side and get to freedom from addiction. Alcohol is poison and this is what it does. To be safe you should really reach out to your doctor. I have used antacids in the past to help with nausea like pepto or tums. Some of the shakes could be from low blood sugar so trying to get crakers or small sips of ginger ale, but again i’d ask a doctor… depending on how much you were drinking withdrawal can be dangerous. It will get better in time.
4-15 beers a day for about 2 years
A lot of it is also probably just anxiety from removing ur daily coping mechanism.. i laid in bed and listened to meditation music and took it minute by minute.. online aa mtgs on intherooms.com helped me also.. u can also find a ton of stuff on this app by using the search option that looks like and hourglass.. staying active here is key. You will find a lot of people can relate to what you are going through.
Well done! Stay strong and push through this but I think it could be wise to talk to a doctor or something if you’re starting to feel really sick ok
@Moll Congrats on your recovery, if this withdrawal gets out of control head to the hospital and/or a detox facility where you can be properly monitored and administered med(s) if necessary. Alcohol withdrawals can be dangerous if they get out of control.
be well
Would definitely see your Doctor. I had this issue before I quit drinking. Wake up every morning nauseous like I had had to throw up but sometimes nothing there. Even went to the ER one time thinking I was having the big one. Doc ordered an Endoscopy test which reveled I had Gastritis. This is where alcohol eats away the stomach lining causing it to produce more acid which makes us sick. There are meds for this but most importantly reframe from alcohol so the stomach can heal. Best of luck in your journey!!!
