Starting again with intention

December 25 is my new start.

Some moments are hard, but I’m choosing sobriety anyway.

One day at a time.

You said it: one day at a time. Breathe, focus, get to bed sober one night at a time. Don’t look forward, don’t look at the mountain from the bottom. You can do this.

There are going to be hard times. Especially at the beginning, but you’ll be better equipped to deal with them. Sobriety won’t solve all problems, but it’s a hell of a lot easier dealing with them with a clear mind and the confidence of knowing you’re winning.

Hang in there. I don’t think anyone regrets being sober.

Thank you for this.

I went through therapy a few years ago, but I was in a very different place back then.

This journey is long, and while I know the tools, I’m learning how to notice and apply them within a new life situation and a new environment.

Taking it step by step and adapting what I already know to where I am now.

Thank you. I think you’re right — I’ve been looking too far ahead, and every time I do, the distance feels overwhelming.

Focusing on one day at a time feels much more manageable right now.

Welcome Juliette. Try not to let your brain get busy and focus on the here and now. Definitely one day at a time, sometimes one minute. Find what works for you :ok_hand::flexed_biceps:
