Went to my first SAA meeting last night. It was scary walking through the door but I did it. I’m not 100% sure if it’s my bag yet, but I owe it to myself and my recovery to explore it further and find out.
Today I hit 90 days sober. The last couple of weeks I’ve been really struggling with urges but I didn’t give in.
Got a therapy session tomorrow, plenty to discuss and go through.
Good job. I commend you. Probably about 90% of those choosing to quit porn fail to address the problem of connection. SAA is a good connection. But it’s also okay for one to refine his/her connection. For instance, I prefer Reformers Unanimous and Blazing Grace meetings for myself. But one should never drop a connection until he/she finds a suitable replacement that’s as good or better than the existing one.
