Still moving on

111 days. Almost half a year. Seems like only yesterday. AODA counselor still asks if I am still sober. When do people stop asking that question?

Next week is 6 months for me and I get asked from my med team as well (and my mother lol). I do but mind. Means they care.

Good on ya for 111 days of getting better at getting better!

I think the counselor asks, because asking is part of their job, and they don’t want to assume anything. If they don’t ask, some won’t volunteer the information, as addictions like to hide from the light.

9 Months for me, today. 270 days of getting better at getting better. I’m on my own program, so nobody asks me if I am still sober. My wife knows I am sober. My daughter knows too. It’s because sober has just become part of who I am.

Charlie don’t surf, and Stevie don’t drink.

Day 301 and people still ask me. But they do it of love rather in an accusatory tone.

If you went to counseling for a substance use issue, they will probably continue to ask you until you complete services. They’re going to want to track whether or not you’re still sober and if you’re struggling to maintain sobriety.

9 months is huge Yoda! You make sobriety look good :hugs:

Oops, 120 days. 4 months NOT a half a year. Good thought though.
