This was actually me in the relationship with my brother.
I idolized him, he hated me to no end, but I tried everything to earn that love and acceptance.
That was really hard to address in my recovery path.

I can’t tell you if it describes your alcholism. I can say that it doesn’t describe mine. I didn’t have any empathy at all whilst in active addiction. I used to say to people that no sense of guilt or sympathy and I wasn’t lying.
