So I got the pleasure of cooking for def Leppard!
Does anyone have any cool stories of famous people or other signed goodies?
Patrick Swayze and his family used to sit in my station, years ago. I served them up breakfast on Sundays during the Dirty Dancing era.
I got Billy Howerdel’s guitar slide after it bounced off my friend’s head at an APC concert.
Uhhmn… did your friend die?
I mean, how come you got it?
Amazingly they didn’t want it! And they were okay.
Sorry. That made me laugh!
I caught Axel Rose’s microphone after a GNR concert back in '92, I was in high school. Literally had to fight people to get out of there with it. If you’ve ever seen his mics they are all wrapped in blue tape, I’ve seen a couple in red, with a white foam top covering the mic. I got it home and my youngest brother decided to tear the foam top into little pieces. Ended up selling it for $150 to fund my spring break trip. Rock on!
10+ yrs ago I hooked up with a lead singer of Rammstein when he was on a tour in my city. Funny story, actually. Not sure if appropriate for this forum though…
I also personally know Kevin Levrone, the bodybuilder. He asked me out once, but I had a boyfriend at the time. I regret turning Kevin down, turned out later, the boyfriend was not worth it…
I waited on Jimmy Buffet when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale back in early 80s. He gave me and 2 other girls backstage passes and front row seats!
And what would have they paid with the blue tape on! Thanks for the story, love gnr and EDIT afd
I have tom araya and kerry kings autographs (slayer) I met both of them at 2 different places, both really cool guys.
I also met Kevin Bacon at a venue I worked at, got to run spotlight for him. He and his brother had a band and they played there. He was also a really cool dude. I met alot of famous people while.working there. Dont remember most of them because, well… things were foggy… haha
I wouldn’t have sold it if it hadn’t been torn apart! Love me some GNR forsure. just saw them again lady October. Axel is a little robust now and the voice isn’t quite what it used to be. Funny as hell watching him run around the stage. But Slash killed it, well worth the price of the ticket.
I went to gymnastic camp with Mary Lou Retton.
Oh yes has been like that for sometime (although never seen him irl). He has had a hard life… And Slash is Slash
Jerry cantrell from alice in chains threw me his guitar pick after playing man in the box. Was so excited about it i was shaking for the rest of the night
I sat next to Neil Armstrong on a flight once. He was my childhood hero—I went to space camp and everything, lol. I was so paralyzed that I just said, “Hi, you’re my hero” a little too loudly right in his ear and he just looked out the window the rest of the flight! Oops.
Another.
For Chicago Bears fans, Brian Urlacher used to come into the pizza place I worked at up north. Really cool guy. Signed a pie pan for the restaurant.
One of our servers was a die hard fan and refused to let anyone else wait on him.
I live in the same county (Edgefield) it’s called Murphy Village.
