There’s literally no reason for a bee or wasp to hurt you without good reason. Sorry about the allergy, have you tried taking bee pollen? Or is that against veganism? I know honey is.
Personally I seen to attract bees as well as birds
I’ve learned to just stay still and allow them. Last summer I had four wasps on me and all just flew off after a bit. Hard to stay still, but I wanted to see what they would do and they all completely left without incident.
I was taking bee pollen at one point and can’t remember why I stopped. Been stung way more than I care for. Still team bee but don’t think I’d be as brave as you. So grateful that you didn’t have any incidents. Bees and birds…you are truly one with nature
I do love my honey. I know some vegans find honey is controversial for vegans - not I.
Ah ok. Yes all my vegan friends (all four of them lol) won’t eat honey, take bee pollen, use bleach, wear leather or use companies that aren’t on some register for not pertaining to animal cruelty in any type of production. My brother in law is the strictest vegan I know out of all of them. I respect that also.
I do want to say that I too make sure to not wear leather (never liked it), and don’t use or eat products where animal cruelty is involved. I do know many vegans (not all personally but was working with many when I had my bakery) and I found the majority ate honey. As times are changing and practices of production is changing then this may also be on the no eat list.
For me honey is the exception as I get it locally sourced from bee keepers who are known to the community. Maybe this is why I haven’t had bee pollen in so long (maybe I couldn’t find it from a place I felt comfortable with?.. honestly can’t remember).
Been vegan now 5 years and this is the one thing I keep going back and forth on. I have it up for 2 of the three years and then came back. It has been a learning experience for sure. Took forever to find a new brand of vitamins that I could ingest without them having other fillers and additives and I think so far that was my biggest challenge.
