Struggling with loneliness and fear

I’m struggling tonight. I have a procedure for health related issues on the 3rd. Less than 1 week away. I’m struggling with how to cope with my fear and anxiety towards having it done and then also the results that follow. I’m also very, very lonely tonight which always tempts me to cope the best way I know how to.

That’s understandable. Has the doctor talked about how it’s performed and what to expect? Do you think it will help you?

If you use, that fear and anxiety will be horrible tomorrow…

I pray the procedure goes perfect for you. No issues, complications or uncertainty.

I hear you big time on the loneliness. I recently moved to Seattle to be next to my kids which has been great. But they also have their own lives as well.

I miss having a companion. I’ll probably be asleep on NYE way before the 12 strike haha. All well. I am headed to AZ next week to see my son so that should keep me busy and preoccupied…maybe one day I can bring that special someone…

Hang in there. The last thing you want to do is cope like you used to. You’ll hate yourself in the morning and nothing would have changed. Keep busy. Stay on here. Do anything you need to in order to let this pass…and in time…it will….

Happy New Year :tophat:

How you doing Julia?
I had to have a heart procedure early on in my recovery. It wasn’t major, but it certainly could have been very anxiety inducing. I was scared. But I did lots of meditation. Guided meditations have been a huge tool in my recovery. I and many others on here use the Insight Timer app. I did lots and lots of guided meditations the days before the procedure. Even on the day of the procedure I had my phone and ear buds for music and meditation right up until they wheeled me in. And I asked them to give it back to me after the procedure. I was able to chat with people here while in the recovery room and still have my music and meditations.
I hope it’s nothing serious but any procedure causes me anxiety and stress.
We are in your pocket when you need us.
