Did you do the Helicobacter analysis? It can cause havoc with one’s stomach.

I did some stool test but not sure if it is the one you are talking about, all came negative. now, I don’t know what is,I keep getting acid reflux and constipation.

Ive got IBS and Diverticulitis just live with it long time sober now

wow, are you saying that there is no cure? i am trying to figure out what might be with me

For my ailments no just to watch my diet certain food i avoid because it brings on painful results as for your problems maybe get them checked over by you doctor i get a colonoscopy every two years just to check there arnt any other problems

Please be aware that you can only get suggestions and tips from the general internet  If you’re having long-lasting / reoccurring abdominal issues, it would be best to consult a health care provider. I have a problem with acid reflux. Diet in general and not eating right before bed time are major players. I hope you find suitable help!

I take 20mg Somac (pantopratsol) every morning in an empty stomach. I try to avoid foods that I know will give me heart burn, like pea soup, beans, raw onion. I prepare to have only a light supper, no sodas, chocolate, pizzas, burgers or anything fatty after 6pm. I’ve cut down my coffee consumption to 2-3 cups a week, never in the morning/evening or in an empty stomach. I usually have a packet of strong mints in my purse in case I get burpy. I have an extra pillow next to my bed to elevate my upper body if I get reflux in the night. Medicine is just a part of keeping the symptoms away.

I went to see doc after there was no help from OTC meds anymore and they did a gastroscopy. It was horrible but provided me a diagnosis - a hiatal hernia. It helped.

Sorry to hear what you are going through, is ongoing medication or you will be cure completely?

My condition is called hiatal hernia. There’s no cure for it unfortunately. I can only manage symptoms.

I suffered from mild heartburn occasionally back in my drinking days. However, I started experiencing severe heartburn/reflux after quitting. I needed a way to cope with my stress and replaced alcohol with junk food and caffeine. I would drink caffeine on an empty stomach. I had a severe flare-up back in May and went to the ER. I was put on omeprezole for a few months, but it didn’t help. I also tried protonix and sucralfate. I had an endoscopy, CT scan, and all types of blood tests. Everything came back normal. I took a 24 ph monitor test where you walk around with a tube down your throat to test the ph levels in your esophagus. The doctor said I had esophagus hypersensitivity from stress and anxiety. I’ve been on antidepressants for a few months now and feeling 80% better. I gained 12 pds back. I was down 110 pds from eating bland foods. I cut back on coffee, spicy foods, and chocolate. I hope you find a resolution.
