What has brought me here is that I have a sexual addiction and it has caused me to do things like solicitation. I never had anyone I’m confident enough to talk about it because I don’t think they will ever understand what im going through because they don’t have this issue. I try to fight this on my own but moment after moment I end up relapsing. What disturbs me is that every time I relapse I feel like I missed my stop where I have to take this long ride and wait for the next stop just to turn back and the way I get to that stop is to do something like shameful for me to get to reality and everytime I get back to reality I’m never happy. What i want to do about it, I haven’t come to that yet, im just taking things one at a time. I realize that I don’t have all the answers. I’m hoping to find them here and I know it will take some time. Well that’s my story in a nutshell.

Thanks so much for sharing. There are lots here with similar stories, use the search bar at the top and look for sex addiction, I’m think you will find many that are on the same bus as you, and hopefully stumble across things that might help. Great to have you hear with us, your not on your own any more, we understand and we care :hugs:

Hi @Dutty1191.

Thanks for sharing. Your addiction is a common one, and a destructive one as well.

I was arrested for solicitation, and that probably saved my life. It prompted me to surrender this to God and get some help. Otherwise, I would have continued to put myself at risk by going into dangerous neighborhoods, exposing myself to STDs, facing legal ramifications, and financial burden.

There is hope. There are a number of us active here that struggle with PMO

To just name a few.

Welcome.

Finding an S meeting to attend would be a great start. (SA, SAA, or SLAA)

Welcome to the forum. I’m a pornography addict. I also have a wife and 5 boys. A lot to lose to addiction. A lot of lives to damage. We come from all walks of life, but ultimately addiction is the same. It destroys us and hurts everyone around us.

Welcome @Dutty1191, glad you made it here. I second Kevin’s advice to seek an S meeting. I know I wish I had skipped over the last 5 years where I thought I could manage my addiction on my own. I need help and getting involved in the 12 steps with a fellowship has given me faith that I can remain in recovery. :v:

@Dutty1191 welcome to this incredible app! I found here wonderful people.
I am a PMO addict and although I am now only 3 days sober I offer my help to you.
Dealing with this pest since I was 13 years old. Although I was exposed to porn at 7. I am 43. Ups and downs but willing to fight. Twelve steps programs had been a great help and connecting with others. Isolation is death
