For anyone diagnosed with a co occurring dual diagnosis, what do you do and how do you fight temptation and pressure after relapse? I am seriously struggling right now.
I don’t have an answer to your question, just wanted to tell you to hang in there.

Well Thank you so much. This was enough. The effort and thoughtfulness is appreciated.
If it´s okay to ask, what is your dual diagnose? Because I think what you need to do depends on the symptoms you´re experiencing.
Mental health and substance abuse. It’s common for most ppl to suffer from one or the other. I have both unfortunately. Just found out I’m suffering from ptsd and something else, I forgot. Got to see a psych in a few days for evaluation to see what else. All this and substance abuse?? Smh.. I’m surprised I’m still hanging on as long as I have and still in my right mind at times.
There are alot of us out there who are dual diagnosed. Its more nuanced with therapy, possibly meds, and processing but we do recover. Hang in there.
Do you want to share what you are experiencing that is too much right now?
It’s a lot. My mind is running rampant right now. My sleep is sporadic. Give me a little time ad I will reply properly. Thank you.
Possible homelessness, job loss due to mental and substance use issues, childhood trauma unresolved, detachment from family, poor relationships, loss of friendships, loneliness, feelings of worthlessness, low energy to no energy, detached from reality.. I could go on and on. Just to name a few
That is alot but as you are getting sober you do not need to solve all these at once. Do the next right thing to keep you sober. With sobriety you will find strength to deal with lifes challenges. Keep fighting for your sobriety
I will and I am. Thank you for the continued encouragement. I really need it. It gets me by. Thank you
ODAAT seriously my friend. Take a breath and deal with each issue one at a time if you can. People are here!
Thank you and I certainly will. ODAAT ![]()

I also have CPTSD (traumatic childhood) and a few other diagnoses. Medication helps for some. But especially when getting sober and having to deal with it instead of drinking it away, I think the most important thing is to be kind to yourself. Allow yourself to rest, allow yourself to feel bad and comfort yourself (weighted blanket can help with this), speak kinds words to yourself instead whenever you start the negative talks and selfhate,…
