So my wife took a job offer and has to take a urine drug test. She’s been using a THC vape pen at night before bed, for a little while. She has to take the test by next Thursday, so roughly 8 days from now. She quit using all together on January 18th. So my question is how long until the test will come up clean. I know some of you have dealt with it, and some even work at the rehab centers. Any feedback appreciated.
THC is stored in fat cells, so body fat % has a lot to do with it, as far as I know. Drinking a lot of water can help but only so much. Then there’s individual body chemistry. A lot of factors.
If it’s everyday use for say, several months, it’d probably take at least a few weeks I’d imagine, maybe a month. I’ve read as long as 3 months.
I read into all this stuff years and years ago, so maybe more current info is available now - but in general I believe it’s fairly unpredictable, can really only estimate very loose timeframes like above. Pretty sure it’s among the drugs that take the longest to leave the system.
Okay thanks T. I had a feeling it was one of the more unpredictable ones. I’ll probably wait till about Saturday. That’ll be 3 weeks and grab her one of those at home test kits so she can check. I know it wasn’t every night but probably 3-4 a week for months. When I used to get it when I was younger, it was off the street, God only knows what was in that. But I have no idea how concentrated this new stuff is.
I went through this for a job a few years back and unfortunately @TMAC is right. I abstained and then tested myself with drug store tests, lies to the employer that I was out of town for two weeks and bought myself time. Before abstaining I tried the junk people say will make it undetectable but I didn’t find it worked.
I call modern stuff “future weed”. I think these higher concentrations will prove to be more addictive (psychologically at the very least) at minimum, far beyond the traditional weed that you and I were buying in high school.
I wrote about it in a post I made yesterday, but I was using 95% THC when I was vaping. That’s really damn high but not uncommon, and pretty much the ceiling. Most vapes I have seen are 70%+, which is still considerably more than traditional marijuana several times over.
Be interesting to see what studies come about surrounding the new stuff and how it affects people in 10, 20 years. Hell, vaping in general. I figure the lungs aren’t equipped to deal with inhaling microscopic droplets of oil for extended time.
Well as T stated it’s a fat cell thing so let me start by saying, I have a very high metabolism, for one, I’m 5’4 and weigh 98 lbs, it took me a total of 45 days to pass the home one which made me comfortable enough to take the test. I did know the position and company would require it so I stopped at the beginning of the interview process hoping I would get the offer after all levels of interviews were complete.
You can buy urine test strips online. I bought an $8 kit off Amazon when I was dabbling just out of curiosity and they seemed accurate. Might be useful to have in the house if she is going to have ongoing testing.
This depends in her metabolism…she should drink lots of water (really a lot, s as much as possible)
THC is reduced over time and stored in your fat, which is why it lasts relatively long in your urine, but sports can help because it reduces the fat in your body. You can look up some foods or drinks that might help, but I don’t know for sure what really does the job and what is not really helping at all.
I bought a test kit for home, it is really easy and some are pretty cheap. Good luck!
